The Art of Robin McFadden

About

Hello! I’m Robin McFadden, a Colorado-based artist.

I was born in 1980 and have spent the majority of my life painting. And momming. When I’m not doing mom things, I’m doing art things, and vice versa. Neither of my identities is mild-mannered.
I have perpetrated a long list of crafty things.
I spent my early twenties making an abortive attempt to get a degree in animation, then spent several years as a freelance muralist/graphic artist/tattoo designer/art teacher. I wrote and illustrated The Solstice Badger, as well as illustrating some of my mother’s excellent children’s books.

Since surviving cancer in 2018 I have been uber productive, from my ‘nerdmaids’ and zodiac watercolors to a smattering of books, such as the Zombie Alphabet Coloring Book, the Lanthanide Legion coloring book, Red Bird (which is about embracing trans kids), and Balance Dance, a spring equinox fable. My largest book is called This Is How We Process and is an eclectic artbook/graphic novel/memoir that tells the story of my cancer fight, using the medical paperwork as a substrate. And, finally, my most epic project to date is The Mendelevian Oracle, which is a huge and multifaceted oracle deck/flashcard set made of fantasy characters based on the elements of the periodic table. It has a companion book and a poster and it’s really glorious.

It is my Magnificent Octopus.

As for the future, I have a million projects waiting in the wings, and I hope you come along and see how they go.
